This week’s illustration for the Colour Collective challenge with the color prompt of Rose Quartz. This started out as a whole comic story but I somehow whiddled it down to a graphic instead. [Note: This post is backdated to the twitter post date. Added to blog 03-01-18.]

Snowball Fight
White was the color prompt for this week’s Colour Collective challenge. Everybody loves making snow-people during the winter months, but I got to thinking it might be cool to make some cats and dogs as well. (Nobody said they had to get along though.)
Some sneaky folks organized behind the scenes for artists to draw a polar bear as an extra challenge to thank Penny Neville Lee who started Colour Collective earlier in the year. This is my polar bear that I posted a half hour before I posted my main cat & dog post above. [Note: This post is backdated to the twitter post date. Added to blog 03-01-18.]
Not A Creature Was Stirring
Here is an illustration for this week’s Colour Collective challenge with the color prompt of Myrtle Green. I got to thinking about what your Christmas tree does at night when everybody is asleep. [Note: This post is backdated to the twitter post date. Added to blog 03-01-18.]
Rudolph the Straight-Edge Reindeer
My entry for this week’s Colour Collective challenge with the color prompt of Cadmium Red. I had long been wanting to try my hand at doing an animated GIF, and this seemed like a rather simple one to start out with. [Note: This post is backdated to the twitter post date. Added to blog 03-01-18.]
Tuning Fork
This week’s illustration for the Colour Collective challenge with the color prompt of Silver. The color got me thinking about tuning forks for some reason. [Note: This post is backdated to the twitter post date. Added to blog 03-01-18.]
Surveillance Egg
I rejoined the Colour Collective challenge this week after taking off a few weeks to deal with my 2015 Inktober challenge. Robin Egg Blue was the color prompt for this week, and it led me to think about what might be going on inside an egg. [Note: This post is backdated to the twitter post date. Added to blog 03-01-18.]
2015 Inktober Challenge
I took part in the Inktober challenge this October, creating 31 inked illustrations in 31 days and posting them online. My Inktober 2015 theme: Paying tribute to Bill Finger Award winning comic creators & their characters. The award, which honors the memory of Batman co-creator Bill Finger, recognizes comic book writers who have not received their rightful reward and/or recognition. For the project I created 23 character illustrations and a comic illustrating part of a letter written by Bill Finger.
Here’s the 23 character illustrations I worked on during the weekdays:
Miss Mizzou Book — Year One

A lot of interesting things have happened with my book “Miss Mizzou: A Life Beyond Comics” this last year. There has been a lot of press for the book, I’ve made a few appearances, and there was also a Miss Mizzou exhibit up locally as well. In September 2015 I wrapped up a full year of blogging about the character, and you can check out the blog highlights here. The response to the book has been really positive–thanks to everyone for their support!
Pizza Rat Award
My entry for this week’s Colour Collective challenge with the color prompt of Rose Tyrien. I was inspired to create this after the pizza rat meme made the rounds online. I thought the rat might eventually get involved in giving some awards to various pizza establishments. [Note: This post is backdated to the twitter post date. Added to blog 03-01-18.]
Duck Dynasty
This week’s illustration for the Colour Collective challenge with the color prompt of Duck Egg Green. Never seen the Duck Dynasty show, but the title seemed fitting for this family portrait. [Note: This post is backdated to the twitter post date. Added to blog 03-01-18.]
