Here is an illustration for this week’s Colour Collective challenge with the color prompt of Phthalo Blue. The color reminded me of the sea for some reason. [Note: This post is backdated to the twitter post date. Added to blog 03-01-18.]

Tea Rose
I really liked the art challenge started by Penny Neville-Lee called Colour Collective that started up in 2015. This is my first entry for the challenge with the color of Tea Rose. [Note: This post is backdated to the twitter post date. Added to blog 03-01-18.]
Elf Dance Party
After being involved with Inktober 2014, I was intrigued by a new art challenge by Penny Neville-Lee called Illo Advent that appeared on twitter in December. I loved the little elves that she created, so I decided to do a little watercolor scene with them myself. [Note: This post is backdated to the twitter post date. Added to blog 03-01-18.]]
2014 Inktober Challenge
I took part in the Inktober challenge in October 2014, creating 31 inked illustrations in 31 days and posting them to twitter. Here’s a collection of what I produced:
NEW BOOK — Miss Mizzou: A Life Beyond Comics

A narrative nonfiction book by J.B. Winter:
“Miss Mizzou: A Life Beyond Comics”
About the book: After a brief 24 hour visit to the small college town of Columbia, Missouri, the cartoonist Milton Caniff was inspired to create an iconic blonde wearing a trench coat: Miss Mizzou! Her adventures in the Steve Canyon comic strip turned Columbia on its ear, inspiring various promotional tie-ins during the 1950s and 1960s. Some of these promotions were celebrated with fervor, while others created controversy that resulted in national headlines. Now you can read about the forgotten history of this character and see the exciting life she lived beyond the comic page.
January 2019 update: The book is now out of print. You can try to buy old copies on Amazon or borrow a copy through a library.

Super Meat Boy paper toy
This is a paper toy of the character Meat Boy that I created. Meat Boy is the star of the hit video game Super Meat Boy created by Edmund McMillen and Tommy Refenes. I must mention that Cubeecraft also created an excellent Meat Boy paper toy before me, but I thought I’d try to make one with a different design. You can download and print out the paper toy below by clicking the checkbox beside “I’m not a robot” and following the CAPTCHA instructions that appear. Continue reading
Robot art exhibit
I contributed this illustration to a robot themed art exhibit currently up at the Uprise/Ragtag Community Gallery. The show runs from August to September 2012.
Watusi the Talking Dog paper toy
This is a paper toy of Dale Martin’s character Watusi the Talking Dog that I created. Dale Martin is a long time small press comics creator, and this month he’s celebrating 30 years of small press publishing! Dale’s published quite a few things over the years, including many issues of Watusi the Talking Dog, which now has it’s own weekly web comic. You can download and print out the paper toy below by clicking the checkbox beside “I’m not a robot” and following the CAPTCHA instructions that appear. Continue reading
New website look
I’ve updated my website with a whole new look, a small portfolio of work, and a change of web address. All the old addresses should still re-direct to here for now, but you may need to re-subscribe to my RSS feed to follow my blog. I might be tinkering with the design a bit more, but it’s done for the most part.
