The panel above is from a two page comic I have in Dale Martin’s latest anthology book: Watusi’s Doghouse Funhouse #2. It’s a 48-page black & white digest with full-color covers and is available by mail for $7.00 postpaid from Dale Martin himself. My comic for the anthology is a short whimsical tale about books. I created this comic way back in 2010, but it’s now just seeing print for the first time. (I also had some work in the first edition of this anthology as well.)

Watusi And The Emerald Serpent Back-Cover
This is an illustration I drew for one of the back-covers in a new mini-comic collection by Dale Martin, available for purchase here. In the story-line the dog Watusi discovers that he inherited an emerald mine. This gave me an idea to reference the great cartoonist Carl Barks. I must say I had a ball drawing this for Dale–it’s always a treat to draw Watusi whenever I get the chance. [Note: This post is backdated. Image was posted on this blog 03-01-18.]
Watusi the Talking Dog paper toy
This is a paper toy of Dale Martin’s character Watusi the Talking Dog that I created. Dale Martin is a long time small press comics creator, and this month he’s celebrating 30 years of small press publishing! Dale’s published quite a few things over the years, including many issues of Watusi the Talking Dog, which now has it’s own weekly web comic. You can download and print out the paper toy below by clicking the checkbox beside “I’m not a robot” and following the CAPTCHA instructions that appear. Continue reading
